Hello,
I saw a product which has kojic acid, the skin-lightening ingredient and niacinamide, antiaging ingredient. Here are the description and ingredients:We make all of our products right after they are placed so as to provide you with the FRESHEST and best quality serums! Kojic acid can produce excellent effects in evenly toning the skin, fighting age spots, pregnancy marks, and freckles, as well as general skin pigmentation disorders of face and body. It is a 98% pure and natural material. Kojic acid has a better inhibitory effect on tyrosinase than any other skin whitening agents! Kojic acid may help diminish or eliminate sun freckles, melasma or other pigmentation! Alpha Arbutin minimizes liver spots and meets all the requirements of a modern skin-brightening and skin depigmentation product. Alpha Arbutin is a gentle but powerful lightening agent that comes from the bearberry tree. It brings the benefits of strong melanin inhibitors such as hydroquinone, but without the odor, toxicity, and potential side-effects. Alpha Arbutin is quite simply the most natural and effective alternative to other skin lightening chemicals! Vitamin B3 Niacinamide blocks actions that can precipitate or exacerbate inflammatory acne. It also helps to reduce the severity of fine lines by stimulating collagen, the connective tissue responsible for skin suppleness. Hyaluronic acid is a natural compound found in your skin that helps create a protective barrier against microorganisms and holds in moisture. Like with most other skin lightening compounds, our Kojic acid, Alpha Arbutin, Vitamin B3 Niacinamide serum has an inhibitory effect and in order to get the most out of it, JJ Labs recommends wearing sunscreen everyday and exfoliating often to ensure a complete melanin inhibiting process.Indications
Hyperpigmentation, get rid of dark spots and circles under eyes
Ingredients
Kojic Acid, Arbutin, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Distilled Water
What do you think?February 22, 2017 at 6:05 am #97018preciousiaMemberThe product contains some good ingredients for pigmentation.Kojic Acid – tyrosinase inhibitorArbutin – tyrosinase inhibitorNiacinamide – melansome transfer inhibitorI am wondering what is the product?Who is the manufacturer and how is it packaged?Price?pH?i did not read that marketing spiel. Just went straight to the ingredients.Firstly. Kojic acid is acidic and unstable. Kojic Acid Dipalmitate is better tbh, more stable.Niacinamide pH (more neutral) and Kojic pH (acidic) are conflicting. Ingredients stability is important. If the product pH is neutral, than Kojic acid will be ineffective, If the product is acidic, than Niacinamide is ineffective.Botanicals like Arbutin can vary. Beta Arbutin from natural bearberry leaves is expensive and included at less than 1% typically. Multiple research papers corroborate that beta arbutin (natural) is effective. One research i found said Arbutin makes pigmentation worse. Alpha Arbutin (synthetic) has no medical support that the skin is able to convert it to something effective for whitening.Trade journals and The Ordinary Deciem quote that Alpha Arbutin (cheaper) is better than Beta Arbutin. I did not find any non-biased report to corroborate this. None found to say that our skin can convert alpha arbutin either.I quote Dr Hannah Sivak’s new book ““The Scientific Revolution in Skin Care.”““In the case of arbutin, the type of sugar and the way it is bound to the hydroquinone represents a qualitative difference, because enzymes capable of using the beta glucosyl will not recognize the alpha glucosyl residue.”You are really getting hydroquinone with arbutin. Arbutin is in actual fact Hydroquinone + a glucoside. Used alone, it is ineffective. They have guidelines for the maximum allowed quantity due to its likeness to hydroquinone, a banned ingredient in Europe. The majority of the tests are on animal skin and the European Commission has confirmed that human skin absorption of Alpha arbutin to be far lower/poorer than pig skin (where alpha arbutin is performed). Arbutin research referencesThere is a large variance in the quality of natural ingredients. The standard deviation is huge. I woluld usually check the company’s disclosure and reputation. The fact that the ingredient list is not sequential based on the concentration of the actives makes me cautious.I would not buy this product, it is mainly water and marketing fluff. No proper preservative is seen shows the company is using several tricks. Namely “label copy”, “hiding preservatives” and “claim substantiation”. White washing really like the Beauty Brains teach us.Even if this product does everything it says it does. It doesn’t target the entire melanin production pathway and has to be supplemented with other products. Missing ingredients eg like AHA/BHA (night) /sunscreen (night) / Antioxidant esp Vitamin C / Vitamin F for Tyrosinase Degradation.I had written a more detailed post on my blog previously Fighting Pigmentation – 7 MUST HAVE Ingredients to target every step of the melanin production pathway, there are many more ingredients. however i have closed the blog, it is no longer available sorry. If you use this and, you need a minimum of 4-12 weeks to see any itty bitty improvement as it does not bleach your skin / work on existing melanin but it only act on new melanin. So you will only see any effect (if any at all) with the CRF (cell renewal factor) of your skin. Only effects will be from the shedding of your skin.conclusion: don’t buyLike Randy will say : “Be brainy about your beauty”February 22, 2017 at 1:34 pm #97023RandySMemberGood points!
February 22, 2017 at 8:35 pm #97030Tiffany60MemberThank you very much. Do you have any recommended products with kojic acid and niacinamide?February 27, 2017 at 12:48 pm #97085preciousiaMemberI am going to be on a social media fast so i keep this short1) kojic acidkojic acid is not stable i said so before.Kojic Acid Dipalmitate is better tbh, more stable.i am using PCA Skin Pigment bar, have been for many years. I have pigmentation concerns.2) Niacinamidethere is no need to hunt a dedicated niacinamide product, they are usually in many products. In fact, in your case, if you don’t know how to read or discern ingredients. you can do more harm than good introducing a high strength Niacinamide B3.Cerave moisturisers has Naicinamide B3. I have not used it but it is well liked and less likely to cause any issues. It is irresponsible to recommend products without a proper understanding of a person’s skin type/allergies/routine.I found my current routine already contains 6% Niacinamide, so i do not need a separate product for Niacinamide. What is good for me, may not be good for you. YMMVI hope this helps.Like Randy will say : “Be brainy about your beauty” ” alt=”” height=”20″ style=”margin: -2px 0px -3px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; font-size: 13.3333px; font-family: Arial, Verdana; vertical-align: baseline; max-width: 100%; background-color: rgb(255, 246, 246);”> -
