I’ve always been a bit weary of hair growth serums after reading a lot of negative feedback about some of the side effects. I recently found one (excuse the lengthy name)  “Eyelash Growth Serum, Lash Science Brow & Eye Lash Serum by Lash Factory” and the ingredients appear to be OK, but I’m hoping for a more educated opinion:

    Ingredients

Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-16, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract (Licorice), Camelia Sinensis Leaf Extract (White Tea), Euphrasia Officinalis Extract (Eyebright), Rosa Centifolia Flower Water (Rose), Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbic Acid, Allantoin, Panthenol, Pentylene Glycol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Triethanolamine, Glycerin, Hyaluronic Acid, Water

I would like to use this on my brows (not my eyelashes) and my main questions are here:

    1. Will this actually work to grow my brows?

    2. Any worries with the ingredients?

    Thank you

Lash growth products have been controversial since a certain class of glaucoma drugs (prostaglandins) were found to really work when applied topically. The problem was this drug could permanently change the color of your eyes! A couple of companies got in trouble for using this illegally but there is a prescription version that you can get. (Latisse).

In this case it appears that the main ingredients are peptides. My understanding is that the evidence for peptides enhancing lash growth is weak at best. I haven’t heard any negative sides effects but does that really matter if they don’t work?
