Should we be concerned about octinoxate? A client of mine is concerned that it’s a hormone disruptor. Thanks for your insight!

Everything is supposedly an endocrine disruptor these days…

Is it definitely safe? I bought a moisturiser which contains 7.5% (Image skincare) and I am now worried it will accumulate in my body with prolonged use?

    Thoughts on this please?

Why not choose safer alternatives, like Tinosorb, Mexoryl, Uvinal A Plus, Uvasorb HEB or Uvinul T150.

Perhaps it’s hormone disrupting properties don’t pose a health threat, but Octinoxate can be absorbed by your body quite easily, it’s also unstable and frequently causes photoallergic reactions.
It may be considered a safe sunscreen active, but Oxybenzone is also considered safe, and we all know the problems with Oxybenzone. There are simply better alternatives on the market than Octinoxate.
