Lately I see more and more ‘preservative-free’ products popping up. They don’t contain things like phenoxyethanol, parabens etc. But I’m wondering how are the products below preserved, what other ingredients take over the preservative role? And could it be a better option for sensitive skin?
The last 3 products are cleansers for extremely sensitive skin, but how do they cleanse, they just seem to be creams? Are they any good?

Some of these contain Caprylyl Glycol which helps preserve. The others I’m not sure about off hand. They could have very low water activity which makes them less reliant on preservatives. One is in an airless pump which also helps reduce the change of contamination. (But they still need some kind of protection.)
Are they better for sensitive skin? It depends on if you’re very sensitive to the preservatives that these formulas lack, like parabens. It also depends if you’re sensitive to the other ingredients in the formula.How do the last three cleanse? Rather than using typical foaming surfactants they use oils or esters that will dissolve some kinds of dirt.
