I’ve been loving Skinceuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50 (link to product info & ingredients) for a long time now, but the price is quite expensive. So I found that the brand is owned by L’Oreal and that they have recently released a similar product at a lower price point, Advanced Suncare Silky Sheer BB Face Lotion SPF 50+ (again link to info & ingredients). The ingredients are different so this may not be exactly the replacement I’m looking for. Could you explain the difference?

The biggest change is that the Skinceuticals product only uses mineral sunscreens (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) while the Advanced Suncare product only uses UV absorbers (avobenzone, etc.)
This is a deal breaker for some people because they don’t like UV absorbers for various reasons. But if you don’t mind them you could certainly give this product a try.Don’t expect the feel of the product to be the same, though, because the base ingredients are also very different. You may find it helpful to see what Paula B thought of these products so I’ve cut and pasted her link below. I hope this helps.I also looked for a cheaper knockoff of the Skinceuticals product and while I couldn’t find an exact duplicate, I did find several that use the same combination of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. The base chemicals are different but some of these may be to your liking.
