    I had my highlights done yesterday but my stylist didn’t use a toner this time, but she usually does. It seems a little bit warmer then I like, and I’m sure it will only get warmer as I shampoo. My colorist said to use a purple shampoo and if it’s still warm to come back.
    Do toning shampoos work well? I can’t imagine that they work as well as a toner, nor do I want to rely on a shampoo to get my color right. Any advice is always appreciated!

    All the purple does is cancel out some of the yellow notes of color. Depending on your hair color, that may work really well for you or it may not.
