Hi Brains! I love Dr. Denese’s Hydroshield eye serum (ingredients from their website:
Dimethicone, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract, Ceramides, Retinol, Tocopherol, Linoleic Acid, Linolinic Acid, Ethylhexyl (Octyl) Cocoate, Lecithin, Glycolipids, Phenoxyethanol)
I would like to know how to determine what the approximate level of retinol is in this product, as I find it to be very effective but just in case it ever gets discontinued, I’d like to know what to look for. Thanks!

There’s no way to tell just from looking at the ingredient list. However my guess is there less than 1% since retinol shows up after ceramides and before tocopherol. You could try contacting the company but I doubt if they’ll tell you. Let us know if you find out anything!

    Hi Randy,

A follow up question. The company has two products, one for face and the other for eyes. They told me the face product has double the amount of retinol that the eye serum has. The ingredient list for the two products are exactly the same, in exactly the same order. Is what they are telling me possible?

Yes that is possible. The ingredients are listed in order of descending concentration. For example, it could look something like this:

    First product:
    Dimethicone – 75%
Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract – 10%
    Ceramides – 2%
    Retinol – .5%
    Tocopherol – 0.1%
    Others

    Second product:

    Dimethicone – 75%
Glycine Soja (Soybean) Seed Extract – 10%
    Ceramides – 2%
    Retinol – 1.0%
    Tocopherol – 0.1%
    Others
