Hi Brains,I am looking for an unscented hair dye with no ammonia or peroxide. To my surprise, I found one. But I want to check with you about the ingredients. Is this product really ammonia- and peroxide free? I know that some brands of hair color that make those claims have ingredients that transform into ammonia or peroxide when you add the water. It’s true that there’s no ammonia or peroxide in this formula but there’s nothing really new here – there are other “shampoo in” hair colors on the market. The catch is that these hair colors won’t lighten your hair (there’s no bleaching step.) So that means you can only add color on top of what you already have (which may be fine for some people but it won’t work for a brunette who wants to go blonde.)
