For whatever reason, Sorbitol in a skin care product causes a seb-derm flare every time. Does not matter if 2nd or last ingredient on list. My question is… If sorbitol does that to my skin, will derivatives like “sorbitan stearate” have a similar affect?
It’s really had to say. Since the sorbitol is tied up in ester form it may be less likely to interact with your skin. However, sometimes the fatty part of a molecule helps it penetrate skin better. If this happens and the ester breaks down then it could still cause problems.
