Shampoo and shelf-life

Shampoo and conditioner won’t really “spoil.” If the products are really old (greater than 3 to 5 years) over they have been exposed to high heat then you may find that the color and fragrance have shifted. You may notice some slight settling of conditioning and opacified agents. Shampoo and conditioner expiration or really more a matter of aesthetics than anything else.

Of course if the products have bacterial growth you should definitely throw them away.
