    Dear Beauty Brains,

NYX total control drop foundation keeps me breakout free- in fact, I have more acne when I don’t wear it! Ironically, “safe” titanium dioxide, zinc, and talc all irritate my skin, but silicone-based cosmetics are fine. People tell me silicone in skincare is dangerous, but I’m skeptical. I have combination skin, wear sunscreen, and moisturize 1 or 2 times a day.

    What makes this so effective?

    Ingredients:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Water / Aqua / Eau, Glycerin, Vinyl Dimethicone / Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, Propylene Glycol, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Isododecane, Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Propylene Carbonate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol. May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499).

Silicone in skin care is not dangerous. They are perfectly fine, effective and safety tested ingredients. Silicones are also not comedogenic. It makes sense that the product works well for you.
