People always claim that sleeping with makeup is damaging to the skin. They say it ages the skin faster, but they never explain why. So I’m curious as to what happens to our skin at night, since it suddenly can’t handle the makeup anymore (which has already been there for hours during the day!)

We’ve never seen any data showing that makeup makes skin age faster. there are a couple of reasons to remove makeup at night, however:

    1. It might get into your eyes and irritate them.
    2. Prolonged contact, especially if your pillowcase occluded the makeup against your skin, can lead to increased irritation.
    3. If the ingredients are prone to be comedogenic, presumably leaving them on the skin over night could increase the likelihood of blackheads.

i am a very bad girl.  i leave my mascara, eyeliner, and concealer on all the time.  all very waterproof.  i have never purchased eye makeup remover of any kind ever.  btw i only wear
mascara, eyeliner and concealer.  anything anywhere else on the face wears off in less than
    an hour.

when my mascara gets too clumpy, i just pick it off.  even the strongest waterproof mascaras
these days are lame.  not like the original cover girl marathon mascara.  that would stay fresh
on the eyelashes for a whole week!  oh, the good ole days!
