Plenty of companies mark their products as “dermatologist-tested/ophthalmologist-tested” but do not go into further detail about it. Could it mean the ingredients were tested, the product in full was tested, or is it just a flat out marketing scheme?
The claim “dermatologist-tested/ophthalmologist-tested” simply means that a derm or ophthalmologist reviewed and approved the study protocol. These tests are typically used to determine if a product is irritating to skin or eyes.
