Topical tretinoin 0.1% really beneficial?

  I was just googling around when I came across this:

  Granted that the participants recruited were old and had had keratinocyte carcinomas, and most of them died from lung cancers (they didn’t control for smoking status), the study had to be terminated early due to the significantly large number of deaths.

  Although a direct cause-and-effect relationship couldnt be established for the deaths…. the PI/researchers of the paper received compensations from J&J.

  
  

  What say u guys? Is topical tretinoin still okay to use?
