Hi all!
I excercise five times a week, always in the evening. I don’t use makeup often, but I always put sunscreen on – and as my skin is quite sensitive, I don’t know if I should let my skin marinate in silicones, waxes and whatever traces of grime and pollution are on my face after a long day. Skin temperature rises during excercise, and I wonder if the heat ‘opens’ pores as it would during a facial to let the potentially irritating mix penetrate deep and cause breakouts ? But if I cleanse prior to excercising, my skin feels tight, even with a supergentle cleansing milk. So I put on moisturizer, work out, and cleanse again, because, obviously, there’s sweat on my face.So what’s worse? Working out in sunscreen or cleansing the hell out of my skin? And what’s the deal with the heat + skincare absorption? Night creams are supposed to deliver skin care ingrediends better because skin heats up at night physiologically in order to cool down the core temperature…
What do you think ?

Then again some some people find some sunscreens irritating. What kind of “super gentle” cleansing milk are you using?
I am intrigued by the question about heat and skin care absorption. I’ll look into that when I get a chance to see what I can find out.March 31, 2014 at 6:06 am #93946CuriousMemberThank you so much for your answer. I use Eucerin Dermatoclean Cleansing Milk :
(Aqua
Glycerin
Isopropyl Palmitate
Cetearyl Alcohol
C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
Octyldodecanol
Glyceryl Glucoside
Cetearyl Isononanoate
Sodium Hyaluronate
Decyl Glucoside
Sodium Citrate
Citric Acid
Glyceryl Stearate SE
Carbomer
Trisodium EDTA
Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate
Ethylparaben
1,2-Hexanediol
Phenoxyethanol
Piroctone Olamine
Potassium Sorbate)The assumption that heat somehow enhances skin care absorption has always left me puzzled, as the only possible explanation I’ve come up with is that heat has a vasodilatory effect, thus leading to more blood flow; but skin care ingredients are not supposed to enter the blood stream. Furthermore, skin is one of our ‘detoxifying’ organs, releasing toxins via perspiration, so the direction seems to be rather OUT than IN.
I’m happy you are intrigued, too.
