What are you expecting the mud mask to do? All they really do is provide a tightening sensation. Too thin of a layer won’t do that as well as a thicker layer.
maybe make it thicker by layers rather than applying one thick layer. lots of thin layers allowing it to dry between each layer.
as a teen, i would put on a thin layer of a mud mask. dark dots of oil from each pore would show through within 20 minutes. i wonder if layering would have pulled even more oil out?
