Is Herbal Essences Naked Cleansing conditioner worth the money?

Laurie longs to learn…I’ve been a fan of the WEN type products for years. My short blonde hair works well with this type of product. I recently read a review of Herbal Essences new Naked Cleansing Conditioner and it sounds like it does what WEN does for a lot less. Should I give it a try?

The Beauty Brains respond:

I’ve got news for you, Laurie, you can spend even less that that!

There are essentially two or three ingredients that make the new Herbal Essences formula work: the fatty alcohols (stearyl and cetyl alcohol) and the stearamidopropyl dimethylamine. There’s a little bit of dimethicone here as well which all that great for “naked” conditioning. For this conditioning cocktail, Herbal Essences charges you $6.99 for 16.9 ounces ($0.41/oz.)

Suave on the other hand has formula that is VERY similar, sans the dimethicone. I would expect it to work very similarly and it only costs $1.89 for 22.5 ounces ($0.08/oz.)! VO5 also sells a stripped down conditioner at that price but the formula is a little different.
