Can the Think Dirty app really protect you from dangerous cosmetics? Episode 145

I was planning on coming back to work today but Perry just ordered another picture of margaritas. That means today’s podcast has to be another rerun. Check out our discussion of the Think Dirty app.

Three weeks vacation! I must be in the wrong business! 🙂

It’s not as great as it sounds because I have to spend so much of my time brushing sand out of Perry’s back hair.

Pssst, link to original show notes no workee (much like the stupid pump on the new bottle of face cleanser I just opened).

Argh! Both the think dirty app and ewg skin deep contradict one another and are straight up confusing. Don’t get me started.

Agreed! They can be inconsistent at times which makes me wonder if they’re really evidence-based.

It seems they’re “evidence-based” in that they go online and reference studies on the ingredient they’re scoring, even if the research has nothing to to do with real-world usage and dose. I am in no way a scientist or chemist, but that doesn’t seem very, um, scientific. Here’s there faq on how they assign their scores: http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/faq/
