MemberDoes this product look like it would add shine to hair? It’s marketed as a shine treatment and it contains 2 bottles (clear gloss and developer). I have my highlights applied professionally and I usually have a clear gloss/toner applied in between appointments to keep my highlights looking bright and shiny. It would be great if I could save money and do it at home instead.
Clear Shine Treatment: Water, Hexylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, Ethanolamine, Soytrimonium Chloride, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Fragrance, Ethoxydiglycol, Oleth-5, C11-15 Pareth-9, Oleth-2, Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Jojoba Seed Extract, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract, Dilinoleic Acid, Cocomidopropyl Betaine, Oleic Acid, Erythorbic Acid, Sodium Sulfite, Oleamide MIPA, C12-15 Pareth-3, Oleth-10, Panthenol, EDTA.
Developing Lotion: Water, Hydrogen Peroxide, Acrylates Copolymer, Steareth-21, Oelth-2, Oleth-5, PEG-50 Hydrogenated Palamide, Acrylates/Steareth-20 Methacrylate Coplymer, Oleyl Alcohol, Etidronic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Simethicone.
I only want to add clear shine. I don’t want to deposit color or lighten. I worry the hydrogen peroxide would lighten hair. However, if it’s the same type of formula that my colorist uses, then it should be fine I suppose.

MemberI’ve tested similar products in the past and found that they didn’t really provide that much of a benefit. But of course, your experience may be different.

MemberThanks I appreciate it, if it doesn’t do much I won’t bother, especially since I highlight already. Sometimes I think it makes my hair feel softer, but it could be in my head.
