    @Peter

Very good point about investigating the purge and the time spent using the product.
i tested it and isolated the issue. I assure you i used it for months Start/stop from 13/11/2016 stopping just few weeks ago early Feb 2017. I did also share when i will be starting some products on this other thread during the initial exploration phase of using The Ordinary.
I even assessed if it was purging from my diet change going vegan since September 2016, stopping to eat animals/animal by-products could cause a purge. By the process of elimination. It was not easy.
Without proper checking, i would be maligning Deciem. I made sure i did my due dilligence in investigating the worst clog of my life.
As I use other products, i analyzed every  ingredients in ALL the products i use. I keep a journal of all the ingredients i have every used, my routine and changes every time,  new  product start dates. Journalising is damn time consuming but it helps when things go wrong to go back to check.
I stopped anything that would be dubious/new, that included prescriptions that do not include excipients (i don’t know the full ingredients if it included anything pore clogging).  ALL the other products I had used had been used for years/many months, so i know they are not the problem.
Aided by the ultrasonic skin scrubber beauty gadget to pre-empt and detect bad clog earlier than most investigation process will take (though a bit late). I was able to pinpoint the exact problematic product early before it happened for the 3rd time! I blamed another product at first, which i had studied the ingredients to be safe and it did not make sense. Nothing comedogenic there and it wasn’t that.
As i eliminated another and another. it became clear it was The Ordinary that i suspected in the first place when i did my ingredient analysis when i decided to purchase it. The busy holidays had me down on my guard,  which i assure you i am on alert usually.
I am still recovering from the clogs. They are big red swollen like a cynst acne. Painful and tender. They are not hormonal. I do not get acne EVER for many many years. (thank you tretinoin and azelaic acid) It’s something i have NEVER EVER experienced before. The oil clogs left 5 PIH scars on my face. 3 i had earlier faded successfully. 2 are new and i am proactively trying to fade the one big ugly red scar left behind. Those are just the big ones. The little ones (you need a microscope to see) feel bumpy under the skin and you can’t use any comedone extract to get them out. You need salicylic acid. A strong perhaps 6% strength. That helped.
In my search for the truth, i had purchased a 60x zoom camera lens to see what the naked eye cannot see. Like this photo below, a very very very mild comedone closeup of this beautiful girl (video)
I am 100% certain it is coconut alkanes.
Which means the Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F.
Is there any area i would not have covered in assessing the culprit?

OK, I finally got the Alpha Lipoic Acid – has anyone else tried it. It smells like fresh-baked cookies to me!!! I did get a little tingling but used it by accident two days in a row (meant to grab another IDENTICAL bottle) and don’t have any irritation, yet. It seemed that some small broken skin injuries (in-grown hair, acne lesion) were much improved the next morning!

Honestly, I didn’t think I would see to much improvement since I already take it orally but I think I just found the benefit of direct application!

    Ciao,

P.S. Is anyone else still using Buffet? I kicked it to the curb and went straight to the Niacinamide and Matryxyl serums.

OK, I wanted to update on The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid. After the first two uses I used it a third time and lord, christ almighty did that stuff burn. It was SO MUCH MORE than the burning of the 23% Vitamin C. I mean, I was tearing up and it felt like a chemical burn. My face was turning bright red in 30 seconds I washed the darn thing off with cold water. OH MY GOD. So, how could it be so different? Since the bottle is dark I can’t tell but I feel like maybe it wasn’t well mixed and that the third time I literally got 100% Alpha Lipoic Acid. I don’t know. A week later, last night, I shook it and also filled and emptied the dropper a few times. I also added a layer of oil on my face as a precaution. I was terrified to try it again but this time I got what I would consider a “normal” amount of stinging. BEWARE and shake, rattle and roll that damn dropper spreading this freaking Ordinary ALA on your face!!

    Ciao,

    Hi!
Has someone ever tried to use the retinol 0.2% serum under an AHA-based cream?

I wonder if it’s not too harsh for my skin. As my cream contains 3% aha, i’m scared that my skin would start pilling.

I already had a bad experience with vitamine c…
