Does mineral oil cause cancer or age the skin? Should I avoid it in my cosmetics?

Hi guys,

I have dry lips and use vaseline to keep them from being a crack-y mess. I also often use Pond’s Cold Cream to remove my makeup before using a cleanser to actually clean the skin, the primary ingredient of which is mineral oil. I’ve heard some talk about mineral oil and petroleum being carcinogenic and purported to cause aging- yikes! What should I make of these claims. The studies I’ve looked at seem unclear.
